In order to manage an enterprise with many stores in an efficient way, all stores  should be structured in the same way with regards to departments, categories and suppliers so  the data from the various reports can be directly compared.

Shelves can de defined individually for each store as required. The remaining data will be created and maintained from the central database. Data will be distributed to the stores by scheduled tasks in MSS. MSS holds all items listed in the stores.

Stores can be grouped into units with identical item data, facilitating the central control of  the stores by the host system.

Through the definition of store groups the assignment of special assortments like beverages to a store has become very easy. Normally item data will be provided by a wholesaler or the main supplier. If an item is already listed in MSS, additional data (description etc) will be copied from the imported data without manual intervention.

The central administration decides whether a new item will be assigned to the entire item base for all stores and in which stores the item will be listed.
